Post Discovery Plugin is not Scanning
My Discovery plug in isn't discovery-ing. I've tried dropping and re-adding the tables in SQL and blowing out the old discovery plugin folder and re-add it. I've tried cactid and cmd.php (back to cactid now as its preffered) and so I'm wondering where should I start looking for more detail. Is there any way to run it manually or what logging would I need to enable to look for errors?

I did work for me a few months back before a yum update hosed my cactid (net-snmp was incompatible) and we went back to cmd.php. I actually used it to scan our loopback subnet and it added about 150 routers to cacti for me which was magical. I would love to get this tool working again.

Apache 2, PHP 5.1.6

Heres the output from my Update plugin for all my versions:

goto the discovery plugin directory and do
php -q findhosts.php -d -f

It ran cleanly and filled the table, so i'm not sure why the poller's are running it. I went ahead and downloaded cacti again, repatched it for the plugin arch and the latest patches from cacti, and moved the files back over top, lets see if it gets any data now...

I guess worse case scenario is I just cron the findhosts.php seperately.

I am having the same problem. When I run the command
Quote:
php -q findhosts.php -d -f
manually, the discovery begins and cycles through the first 54 addresses and then hangs. Nothing shows up in the tables. The cacti database table plugin_discover_hosts is empty. The table plugin_discover_template has 1 entry for our gateway router.

I am also getting errors in the log such as
Quote:

10/03/2007 07:30:07 AM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] ERROR: Input Expected, Script Server Terminating
10/03/2007 07:30:07 AM - CACTID: Poller[0] WARNING: Unknown host 192.168.0.1a

Note the letter a appended to the IP address. I have no idea where this is coming from. There is also an unprintable character after the a.
