From the Network Tools plugin, running a SNMP Walk against my LasetJet 8000 printer for the network interface works fine and it is charting. Running a walk against the remaining toner fails. I looked at the /resource/snmp_queries/printer_supplies.xml file and copied the top OID into the snmp walt interface. It failed again as did all the other OIDs in the file. I next SSHed into the Cacti install and ran snmp walk from the command line and again they failed.

But when I run Snmputilg form my desktop all the OIDs work as expected, returning the info I want. I am using the same community string in all cases. There are no routers between any of these machines. I can traceroute from the Cacti server to the printer in 1.2ms.

Does anyone have any ideas about why no info is returned to Cacti but is to a standalone SNMP tool on my desktop?

Here is my Cacti setup:

Sounds like you're desktop has different access than your server - maybe a firewall involved?

No firewall. They are both on the same IP network. Also as I stated, I get SNMP data from some OIDs on the printer in Cacti but not others while I get all of them from a SNMPwalk from my desktop.

Are you using v1 or v2c. Different versions of the SNMP protocol return different data sometimes.
