Post Thold help please
Can someone please explain to me to how use thold by going through a example of setting up a threshold for cpu usage or disk space?

I want to monitor cpu usage, but I am confused on how to do this. When I go to create a template and select ucd/net cpu usage I do not see anything just for ucd/net cpu...I see 3 selections (user, nice or system). What I want to do is watch the total overall. Can this be done?

Also, I setup a thold for apache hits/sec and the value that was showing up in thold was the wrong value. Thold was showing 25 as the current value so I clicked on the graph and the graphs current value was 10.

Post Thold values don't match
I am currently having the same problem where Thold values don't match actual values. I have also seen others in the forums with this problem also. I have yet to find a solution. Maybe we can work together to find one.

Have you upgrade any of these recently, or our they all fresh installs:

- Cacti
- Thold
- Plug-in Architecture
- Any other plug-ins?

It feels like people are ignoring this data mismatch problem with Thold. I don't know why someone hasn't posted a solution yet.

File comment: The circled value is wrong. Pic 1 has the correct value that the RRD file has.

My install is fresh with the latest of thold. I am starting to think its broken in the app because multiple people have shown the same exact error. If it was a easy goof up on my part then I would think someone would reply with the answer

Post CactiEZ
The Thold portion of CactiEZ works fine. I believe it is the latest version also. This would imply that Thold does work, but that something is mis-configured.

Look at the graph template, is there any CDEFs applied to the graph itself? As that would throw it off.

Post Not using CDEF
As far as I can tell the Graph / Data source is not using a CDEF and the Thold is not using a CDEF either. Thanks for the reply though.

I am also facing the same problem where Graph values does not match the Thold values. I don't know if some one has a solution to this issue. Desperately waiting for one.

Hello,

Im browsing this forum for a few month now and this is my first post here.
Im using cacti 0.8.7b with thold 0.3.9.
Im facing the same problem with thold value. It does not match the graph value, there is always a difference between the two value

There is many post about this problem, but no real answer, maybe someone has an idea?

I never found a good solution to this. I did however test CactiEZ and the problem does not exist in CactiEZ. I have since migrated my server to CactiEZ and everything is good.

Here is my CactiEZ and SNMPTT tutorial:
