Post Thold / Value for interface in bits but threshold in Bytes!
Hello

I have some interface with graphics in bits but in order to have some alarm I have to insert the value in Bytes !!

(ex: High Threshold If set and data source value goes above this number, alert will be triggered, for an alarm with 14,5 Mbits I need to put 1812500)

It would be good at showing an unit near the value.

Thold uses the exact number that the actual MIB or script returns. The graph more than likely uses CDEFs to change the number to be more pleasant. In an upcoming version, thold will allow you to also apply CDEFs to the thresholds, just so no one gets confused.

Post Threshold Alert Help
Hi

I have installed threshold

i need your help to change some data value in subject line
See subjest line is
"MSB-GSR - Traffic - 198.168.2.121 - PO7/0[traffic_in] is still below threshold of 60000000 with 8524543"

See i have setup the threshold as 60000000 & i am getting message as "still below threshold of 60000000 with 8524543"
The value 8524543 is in bytes & also threshold value set in bytes, kindly suggest me the way to set threshold in bits/sec & same should come in subject line.

Thnaking You,
Nilesh

Threshold is returning the data exactly as it is given it, which is exactly how it is stored in the RRD database for that graph (in bytes in this case). A CDEF is changing the data on the Graphs to make it into bits, but the data isn't really bits.

I do plan on adding the ability to apply a CDEF to a threshold, but its not anywhere close to completion yet.

Thanks for your reply,
Please suggest me what changes are require so that atleast in subject line threshold value should come in bits/sec.

Thanking you,
Nilesh

Hi,
I installed Thresholds (thold - v0.3.0)
I select CDEF as turns byte into bits.
But what should I fill into High Threshold field?
For example I have interface speed is 155 Mbps. And I wanna get an alarm when value reaches to 100Mbps.
Can anybody say the value?
Should I fill as 100,000,000 (bits/ssec) or 12,500,000 (bytes/sec)??

Hi,

now You have to fill bits/sec value means fill the value as 100,000,000 for setting the threshold of 100 mbps

Thanks & Regards,
Nilesh
