Post [Solved] CactiEZ bad performance on VMWare
Hi,
I have installed CactiEZ on VMWare Server 2.01.
After I added 3000 Service in CactiEZ the load increase to 3.0
If I deactivate the CactiEZ Client and installed Debian with Cacti 0.8.7b and added 15000 the load of the Server is 1.0.

Do you know where the problem is?

Hi,
there are two problems.
First, the HD write performance in the VM-Ware is a little slower.
Second, the rra-file history at CactiEZ is very big. I have modified the rra values and now the load of the cacti server is much better.

Best regards,
Doerchi

Can you elaborate on what the "rra-file history" is and what change you made? I suspect I had the same problem as you, and would like to avoid it happening again in the future (I'm in the process of rebuilding my CactiEZ VM now).
