 backup plugin on unix You may want to detect if the system is unix based and use tar.gz to preserve file ownership and permissions.

I currently have it planned as such. Just as with the downloads on this site, you can select whether you want zip, tar.gz (I'll leave out just plain tar).
I'm actually working a little more on the backup plugin today, since I would really like to get a working backup solution in place before the official release of the CD.
