Post newbie MS Exchange question
I've successfully installed cacti (current version, OS = CentOS w/ current updates) and I have some traffic graphs working nicely. I'd like to monitor traffic on my Exchange Server (2007 EE, on Windows Server 2003 R2, all current sp's and updates). So I (naively?) installed the MS SNMP service on the Exchange box and verified that it has started. But when I create the device in cacti (generic SNMP-enabled host, SNMP version 1 or 2 (tried both, neither work)), and click "save." I just get an "SNMP error" message. We can rule out network issues, both machines are on the same segment of an internal LAN.

Maybe I need to install a different agent on the exchange box? Is there an fm I need to r? :)

And, more generally, is there a simple linux or Windows CLI command to verify if snmp is running on a remote machine and responding to queries?

Thanks for any help you can provide --
