 Treshold questions
I just started on Thresholds and have some queries.
Apparently I am using thold-2.7 (though the Changes file references 2.8)
a) how exactly does the 'reference in the past' and 'time range' work?
Does it start looking for max/min values at the reference point and then time-range seconds forward, or does it start looking at 'reference -.5*time-range' ?
b) is there any way to calculate threshold values w/o introducing a new CDEF? I am pooling a system_time and user_time value, and would like to trigger when the combined value exceeds 90% or so

a) I believe it goes from the "Refrence in the Past" forward "Time Range"
seconds
so if you specified 604800 as the past
and 86400 as the range it would look at the entire day one week ago.
This is what i use to baseline our switch temps (there is a noticable swing based on usage) only drawback is holidays and the week after I get email.
b) You may be able to set your threshold on the inverse (i.e. idle time which is probably what your really interested in anyway and it accounts for i/o time as well) just reverse your highs and lows.
