Post Problem in getting syslog plugin to work
Hi CactiCommunity,

Please help as I just installed the syslog plugin to Cacti. However, the error shows that I have a user authentication issue.

FATAL: Cannot connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'. Please make sure you have specified a valid MySQL database name in 'include/config.php'

I check my mysql account by using the following method :

mysql --user=root --password=***** and it login successfully, and the login information tallys with the include/config.php.

I have done the import of syslog.sql to cacti database.

Please help to advice what else is wrong.

Many thanks.

Hi,

Problem solved, I need to edit the config.php in the /plugins/syslog as well, apart from the /include/config.php.

Rgrds,
benson
