Post Flowview 0.3 under CactiEZ CD
Hello, I have installed the Flowview plugin under a CACTI EZ CD installation.

Flows are going to CACTI from the router (I can see them with flow-print also). The SQL Flow database has data on it.

Settings > Path has correct configuration under Flowview both for binaries and flow data.

But I cannot get a Flow report. Also, Device pulldown shows nothing.

Any ideas where else can I look ?

Regards,

JHAVA

What settings do you have for the Flows Directory Structure and Flows Directory?

Also, re-download the flowview plugin, as I just made a few changes yesterday to fix a few issues with using "/" as the Flows Directory Structure.

Also, you will not see anything in the "Devices" drop down, as its not implemented yet.

Flows Directory Structure is set to: /
Flows Directory is set to: /var/netflow/flows/completed/

I checked and that is where the files are.

I will download the plugin again and try it out.

I downloaded plugin again, (still version 0.3 right?)

I get the same results.

No information displayed.

Yep, still version 0.3.

Does it actually display an empty results box at the bottom? Or does the whole input form not show up after hitting submit?

Check and make sure that the router that is dumping the data has the correct (and same) time as the Cacti box, otherwise the dates are off internally in the netflow files.

I will see about adding some debugging code for you. Until then, check and see if the flow file is being created in the temporary directory you assigned.

Yes, still empty results at the bottom.

All my routers are NTP synchronized. Other Flow software that I am testing as demo is working fine. The Cacti machine is not under NTP yet, but still has more or less the same time.

I will try to sync the CACTI PC with ntp

As long as the times are close, it really shouldn't matter.

How many flow files do you have? I've seen it fail before when it can't stat the files in the directory.

I have a new beta of the CactiEZ CD, which lots of fixes and changes to the way netflow is collected / stored, if you would be willing to test it out.

There was a timezone difference tha was important. I had to clear all files, and reset the computer for it to work. Now it is working fine.

Thank you.
